Outward Bound

Lauren Dempsey and Emily Scott (Year 9) write:

Before Christmas 30 Year 9s were invited to go to the (freezing) Lake District and participate in activities to improve our resilience and team-bonding skills. As well as improving on these skills we got to participate in lots of activities such as canoeing, gorge walking (climbing up waterfalls) and a dip in the lake. Our main challenge was an all-day expedition up a mountain, leaving with breakfast, lunch and dinner  rations. We returned after dark having cooked our dinner on a makeshift hob.

We were all challenged and had to help each other which was difficult at first as we were from different schools but we quickly made friends. The whole Outward Bound adventure was a real challenge but it was a valuable experience that none of us will forget.
