Visit To Auschwitz

For The second year running, Sedgehill took part in the Holocaust Educational Trusts ‘Lessons from Auschwitz’ project. To qualify, students had to write an application explaining why they wanted to go. Successful applicants then took part in a seminar, meeting a holocaust seminar, before travelling to Poland to visit the Auschwitz concentration camp.

Jack Hartigan, Year 13, writes:

Auschwitz was truly a humbling experience, one I will never forget.
Imagine having what you believe in taken away, being separated from your family to never see them again. The experience showed me that we take the word “freedom” for granted and we should appreciate that we can get up in the morning and leave our house, knowing we can be who we want to be.
